What You Need to Know as Consumers
Our candles are made in the USA using our exclusive Environmentally Friendly blend of Premium 100% All-Natural Palm-based Wax! This translates into a finished product that is vastly cleaner burning than that of our competitors who use paraffin-based waxes!
Our Palm-based wax blend is a renewable resource! This means that we do not rely on non-renewable resources, such as the by-product of crude oil (paraffin).
A candle of poor quality can, not only adversely affect your long-term health and the health of your family by releasing harmful chemicals into the air, it can also discolor your walls, clog your air filters and ducts and irritate allergies!
One of the characteristics of our exclusive wax blend is that our candles are highly fragrant throughout the life of the candle. It is also long-lasting with the 19 oz candle lasting approximately 100-120 hours and the 27 oz candle, approximately 150-160 hours.
At FaerieLand Candle™ we developed a candle with your health in mind.
Our 100% All Natural Palm-Based Wax Blend is unique in many ways.
Research:
Our candles are the result of extensive testing and exhaustive research to ensure the highest quality candles that will burn clean and even and will satisfy even our most critical customers!
Waxes:
A quality candle is not just created of natural waxes. Each natural wax performs differently. We've taken that into account and strategically developed our own blend of natural waxes that has a crystallized appearance, long-lasting, and burns clean and even.
Our candle burns cooler than paraffin allowing the fragrance to be released into the air rather than being destroyed by the heat. It is also designed to create a maximum melt pool so that at the end of its life, the consumer is not left with a large amount of wasted wax. This also contributes to the excellent fragrance-throw of our candles.
Fragrances:
The fragrance oils must be both high quality and compatible with each other when blending as well as compatible with the wax-blend. We order fragrances from the most reputable and qualified fragrance companies nationwide to ensure that each fragrance passes our high standards, including the candle's fragrance throw while lit and unlit.
Also, many of our fragrances are designed by us and are cited as FaerieLand Candle™ Exclusive.
Each scent is then hand-blended with our All Natural Palm-based wax before pouring. This process guarantees a candle that will retain it's fragrance until the wick reaches the bottom. It will smell just as wonderful on it's last burn as it did when you first lit it!
Dyes:
The type of dyes used plays an important role in both product appearance and burn qualities. We've tested dye crystals, powders, and liquids from an assortment of manufacturers to arrive at our final decision.
Our dyes are composed of eco-friendly ingredients. In support of any measure that may result in consumer safety and awareness, we extend that no ingredient used in our dyes are listed in California Proposition 65, which documents cancer-causing ingredients.
Wicks:
The type of wick is extremely critical to the waxes, fragrances and dyes. This wick must be selected cautiously. We have tested every wick known to us. We literally spent nine full months eliminating options from our large selection of wicks to choose the perfect one.
Final-Phase Testing:
Once the candles are made, testing the final product is conducted to fix any final-phase bugs and adjustments are made according to their needs at which time, the candles are tested again. This cycle is repeated until they pass our quality assurance criteria. Then, we have a FaerieLand Candle™ that we are proud to present to you.
The Spirit and Uniqueness of FaerieLand Candle™
Our jars and lids are screen-printed by hand with a durable epoxy ink so that it may be used long after the life of the product for storing various items such as buttons, cotton balls, or candy.
The beautiful design on the jar was designed by our very own New York City artist, who is fortunately also a member of our family.
Each candle is suited with a booklet with an inscription specific to both its color and fragrance. Therefore, every time a new candle is born in our factory, we spend a great deal of time creating the appropriate inscription.
The idea for this final touch was meant to inspire the soul, as well as, create an atmosphere of reflection.
Tallow-Animal Fat
The candle industry has made remarkable advances in candle quality. In the earlier days, chandlers, or candle-makers, used Tallow, which is made up entirely of animal fat. The soot from these candles was thick and greasy, which meant that spring-cleaning was without a doubt one of the biggest chores of the year. Also, the candles had a foul smell.
Beeswax
Beeswax was used in the middle ages, but was limited in production. As such, only the wealthy and the clergy had access.
Bayberry
During the American settlement, Colonial women discovered that extracting oil from bayberries could be made to produce candles that are cleaner burning and highly scented. This development did not last long because of the difficulty in extracting enough oil to produce a sufficient amount of candles. It takes about 15 pounds of bayberries to make one pound of bayberry wax.
Spermaceti-Sperm Whale Oil
The whaling industry of the 1700s sparked the interest in the Sperm Whales’ blubber, whale oil, which produced spermaceti, a wax that did not melt with the heat of the summer. As far as fat goes, this wax burned the cleanest, but was quite unpleasant to smell.
Paraffin
The Industrial Revolution paved the way for mass production of a newly discovered wax, paraffin, which is a byproduct of crude oil. Since its invention in the 1850s, paraffin has reined as the cleanest burning wax that does not give off a bad smell and has been relatively unchallenged until recently.
A Few of the Newer Natural Waxes Used in Candles~
Carnuba Wax is more commonly known as automotive wax. However, it is also used more recently in candle-making, though it is very brittle.
The soybean has produced a wax that is renewable, biodegradable and water-soluble. It helped give birth to the newest era in candle-making, the era of Environmental Awareness and Health Consciousness.
Palm wax is made of fruit berries of the palm oil tree. It is also a renewable all-natural wax. This wax helped to create a new category of natural waxes. Its unique crystallized look makes this wax eye-catching and intriguing. Its ability burn longer and maximize fragrance throw makes this wax heaven-sent for the true candle lover.
